HMD global has previously promised Android O for its series of Nokia phones and the company well kept its promise by making Android 8 Oreo Beta available for the users. As the company is looking forward to opening up a beta program for the developers and interested users, the users can make the most of this opportunity by becoming a Nokia 8 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta tester.
How to Become a Nokia 8 Android 8.0 Oreo Beta Tester?
Becoming a beta tester for Nokia 8 Android 8.0 is now much easier for the users. To take up the role, they need to have their registration with beta labs page to sign up with their Google account. With 12 hours of registration with all the required details, Nokia 8 users will get Android 8 notification for the Oreo software update within the 12 hours of the registration.
Once the registration has been done with all the details, the users will receive the beta update that will come as an Over-the-air (OTA) update. The update can be downloaded directly with Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
“Our growing community of beta testers are the first to receive Android 8.0 Oreo. By testing the software ahead of general release, your feedback will help us create the smoothest and purest Nokia phones experience. To join, all you need is a working Nokia 8,” quoted Nokia Team.
For all the Nokia 8 users, the new update offers a number of features including notification dots, Picture-in-picture, Google Play Protect Security scan, Faster Boot ups, autofill passwords and many more such exciting features. Before proceeding to the Android 8.0 Oreo Beta update, the users have advised to backup the data. One exciting news for all the users who are likely to go for the update is that they can switch back to the Android Nougat in case Oreo beta seems to be buggy.
HMD Global has received all the praises from the users to make the Android Oreo public beta available for the users well before the time. However, in another separate statement, HMD global has stated that there may be a slight delay in making Nought 7.1.2 update for Nokia 3 by shouting the reason,“It seems Nokia 3 is poised to get Android 7.1.2 before the Android Oreo update but the update is delayed because of a very well-known reason. MediaTek processor on Nokia 3 means slight delay in getting updated drivers and some more time required to complete their testing.”
