The world is full of art lovers and if you are one of them, we have a fantastic news for you! Recently Google cultural institute launched its new Arts & Culture app for Android and iOS. It has also launched the website for this purpose but by any means the mobile app is more attracting and intuitive.
Google Arts & Culture app is already taking the art lovers by storm as it’s the one stop destination where you can access the world’s greatest art forms of all mediums and genres. The app is a great blend of art and technology and if you are wondering that this app is just another art and culture app, ponder again because it is a product of the tech giant Google and Google is known for bringing innovations.
Let’s See what this App is all about
App marketplaces are full of history and art related apps that offer only text and static images. But this app is very different in all aspects. It has a collection from over 1000 of the world’s top museums spread around more than 70 countries and other art organizations. It provides you with a 360-degree virtual reality walk-through with the help of Google Cardboard. So, whether it is Ancient sports of Greece, Palaces of Rome, greatest paintings by artists like Michelangelo or anything and everything about the world history and civilization.
The App lets You Explore Anything:
- 1) In art which is as old as 200 BCE and everything in between.
- 2) You can have multi cultural experiences across art and history by moving even an inch from your place.
- 3) Search for any artist by time and see how their art work evolved with time and place. Museums around the world have some or the other work of art: the app allows you to have a glance on their entire work.
- 4) Browse by keywords of your choice and even by color.
- 5) Take a virtual tour of art and go back in time to have a look at the ancient Greek temple of Zeus.
If you are done with the virtual tours and want to travel to the museums in real life too, then you have to just click on the option ‘visit’ and you would get the entire information like visiting hours of museum, major attractions and special events.
The most interesting and out of the box feature of Google Arts & Culture app is “Art Recognizer” which is available in London’s Dulwich Picture Gallery, Sydney’s Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. what you have to do is, just point your phone towards the painting and you would get entire info about the concerned art work. Google is planning to roll out this feature to the museums round the globe.
Google Arts & Culture app is the only one of its kind and we hope you enjoy using it. The app is available both on Android and iOS. You can download the same from here.
